AGARTALA/SONAMURA July 23 (TIWN): Laying the foundation stone for the new building of Primary Health Centre at Dhanpur in West Tripura, Chief Minister Manik Sarkar recently instructed the administration to ensure the quality of construction.

He said the state government has been spending a huge amount for improvement of health care facilities and education infrastructure, which is more than any other state of the country.

He further said that the newly constructed building will be constructed after spending an expense of Rs.5 crore and 40lakh. A 10 bedded hospital building and quarter for doctors, nurses and health workers would be constructed for the PHC.  As there is no District hospital at Sipahijala a new hospital to constructed at Bisramganj.

Addressing the meeting at Kathalia Panchayat hall, CM Manik Sarkar stressed for providing quality education. Education has always played a key role in the society's progress. Without education, it is impossible to achieve any advancement and the prosperity of the societies is unattainable.

There has been always a debate regarding the system of education that is provided to the students. Some assert that it should be designed to provide the students with a value system and a set of ideas while others think it must prepare them for specific job. In my opinion, both methods should be adopted in order to ensure the best implementation of the education benefits, added Sarkar.

Manik emphasized on the point that the purpose of education is to ensure that students are well prepared and are well educated. This can be obtained when educational system is designed to provide the students with a value of system, a standard and a set of ideas.

Students must be taught that education is not only concerned with getting high marks in exams or getting admissions in a reputable collage. Education is concerned with building the students characters and preparing them for their practical life. Furthermore, education is meant to broaden the students' perspective and to widen their horizon. It is designed to help them deal with problems and predicaments that they might confront in their life, said Manik.
