Deputation placed to Agriculture Minister to increase number of recruitment

AGARTALA, July 22 (TIWN): Demanding to increase the number of recruitment in the Agricultural Department and to resume the recruitment process which has been lapsed for last 5-year, the students of Agricultural Department placed deputation to the Agricultural Minister Aghore Debbarma on Wednesday.

On behalf of all the students of Agriculture Uthpalendu Debnath complained that for the last 5-year the state government is not recruiting any student of agriculture. Besides, the state government has been recruiting students for the Veterinary and Animal Husbandry post.

He said that the when they asked about to resume the recruitment process, Minister Aghore Debbarma said that the Department will soon opt for 50 recruitment under the Agricultural department.

Besides, He also expressed that it is commendable that the state government is taking initiatives to recruit for at least 50 posts but compare to the post the number of unemployed persons are triple.

There are around 200 numbers of unemployed peoples, confirmed Debnath.

He expressed, “We understand that that the department is going through some financial crisis but at least they can increase the post to 80 and if not at least 70 persons could be recruited which will help to decrease the number of unemployed student of Agriculture”.

Debnath further said that they are not mentioning about the private college students but at least the students who have been selected in the colleges through Tripura Joint can get the opportunity to get placement in the Agricultural Department of the state.

He further said that altogether there are 383 posts are there at the department and among them 144 post are already appointed with Agricultural Officers. A total of 239 posts have been remained vacant including the reservation seats.

Therefore, they demanded to increase the number of recruitments so that the most of the unemployed can get job and can utilize their education.

They further demanded to resume the recruitment process, as per them the state government has recruited in the year 2010 last and then till day no recruitment has been done yet.

Therefore, regretting over the issue Debnath said that there are no opportunities for the student of the Agriculture Department whereas being under same department the students of Fishery and Veterinary are being recruited easily and none of the students are seating idle after the completion of the concern courses.
