Restriction on heavy vehicles movement during Kharchi Puja

AGARTALA, July 22 (TIWN): To ensure convenient movement of the devotees during the 7-day long traditional ‘Kharchi Puja’, District Magistrate (West) Dr. Milind Ramteke has imposed strict restriction over the movement of heavy vehicle from July 24.

The restriction will continue till July 31 the last day of the celebration of the festival.

During this period, huge numbers of devotees from all parts of the state will turn up to celebrate and seek blessings. Therefore, to maintain convenient movement of vehicles and the devotees, under the Tripura Motor Vehicles Act 1991, Section 105 and Tripura Motor Vehicles Act 1988, Section 116 and 117 the restrictions has been imposed.

It has also been announced that under this order from Bijoy Sangha drop gate to Dalura drop gate of NH-44 road has been declared as no parking zone, during the festive tenure.

Therefore, keeping in mind the convenience movement of the vehicles during the celebration, for the private and public vehicles Khayerpur Dashamighat ground has been chosen as the parking zone area. Beside, the vehicles which will arrive from Jirania and Ranir Bazaar side will park their vehicles in the interior of the new market in Khayerpur.

Further, for the vehicles and auto rickshaw from Agartala and Khayerpur, an area near Assam-Agartala old bridge has been allotted for parking.

During the traditional festival, from morning 8 am to night 11 pm at the NH-44 road movement of all kinds of heavy vehicles will be strictly prohibited so that the movement of the vehicle does not hamper the devotees that comes to take part in the festival can easily spend their days peacefully and calmly. Preparations to provide round the clock services such as food, shelter and water are under full swing.

Besides, there will be no movement of vehicles on the Chandrapur to Old Agartala via Boldakhal. Further, strict restriction has been imposed on the movement of vehicles form Khayerpur Howrah Bridge to Debatabari and from Kalitilla to Debatabari of NH-44 road.

Additionally, the vehicle movement in the Bridhanagar road to Debatabari new road has been strictly prohibited from the commencing date of the festival till the accomplishment date.
