AGARTALA, July 22(TIWN): Governor Tathagata Roy on Tuesday inaugurated the 5 day long religion festival organized on the occasion Rath yatra at Jagannath temple.
Inaugurating the 5 day long religious festival recently at Jagganath temple Governor Tathagata Roy said that religious is the only thread which binds us even across the boundaries. Religious is there within ourselves.
The true nature of God and our own true nature are one and the same. God lives in our heart. Those immersed in the superficial aspects of religion find it difficult to understand the essence of their religion; they will fail to experience the presence of God within. We must assimilate the real values at the heart of our religion-its fundamental principles- and not to give over importance to undeserving matters, added Roy.
Quoting Swami Vivekananda in his speech he said that, Swami Vivekananda in his great philosophy said that religion is there in the blood of Indians and it cannot be cast out of them.
He further said, only because today we have become materialistic and don’t have faith in religion we are facing such doldrums.
However, Governor Tathagata Roy along with Jagannath temple Mahaaraj Bhakti Kamal Vaishnav, Tripura Central University Anjan Kumar Ghosh remained present in the program.
