Poor quality of mid-day meal and bad management hits school education

KAILASHAHAR, July 22 (TIWN): The Bagaecherra Primary School situated in the Deuracherra ADC village running deplorable from the month April after heavy storm hits the school roof. The heavy storm has left the roof in a dangerous condition which may fall any time.

Altogether there are 69 students in the school, one teacher and a Head Master. Though the situation has been informed to the ADC school inspector and the School Administrative Committee but till day no response has come up to solve the condition of the school.

The guardians complained that along with the responsibility of the school, the Head Master Jyotish Paul also work in an administrative survey. They also said that HM Paul mostly gives time to the survey work rather than putting keen eyes to the school.  

The situation has been brought up after violent storm which had blown away the roof of the school. The school compound including the class rooms has also been flooded by the storm.

The walls of the classroom have started to fall apart and there are no proper toilets as such the entire school campus is in a pathetic condition.

The locals further complained that the teacher including the HM enters the school at around 12pm and leave the school at 1:30pmwhereas the school starts at 10 am and ends at 4pm. These kinds of irregularities are hampering the education system of the school.

They also expressed that the irregularities in the study is hampering the student’s interest towards education and if the situation continues than they will be bound to shift their children to other school.

However, most of the students are from family of tea labourers and from Muslim community and as they cannot afford in the private schools so they expect good education for their children in low cost.

The locals said that the government should look into the condition of the school and should help the students to continue their normal classes.

The government’s neglecting policies towards the government aided schools is condemnable as the government should be treated equally to the government schools or government aided schools or privates schools, they added.

Further, the school also show negligence over the mid-day meal, the ingredients used are substandard. The dishes which are distributed among the students are not prepared properly and it has hardly any vegetables.
