 Motorists face miserable time at Grandues to Ranikhamar Road

AGARTALA, July 21(TIWN): Grandues chowmuhani to Ranikhamar Road is in a shambles. Motorists and pedestrians taking the stretch at night feel extremely miserable. In order to avoid the potholes and stones on the sides of the road, motorcyclists use only the middle of the road, thereby making it difficult for car users, says a motorist.

Ill maintained roads and streets of Grandues to Ranikhamar Road has poses a threat to the public. Some of the highly used roads are filled with craters and cracked surfaces. As a result of which many vehicles get stuck thus giving rise to a terrifying traffic jam.

Despite several representations to the authorities concerned, steps have not been taken to re-lay the road, alleged locality.

The negligence of State Government in proper construction of roads appears to be night mare for the people. The roads are filled with stone chips and cements, which appears as a leading cause of deadly accidents. The only thing visible on the road is ditches and pot holes resulting to accidents and inconvenience in travelling

The condition of the road has been remaining poor for several months. And with the onset of the monsoon season, the stretch becomes slippery and slushy. Also, a big ditch, at the road level, and found in the middle of the road, poses a threat to motorists, especially at night, a car-driver, said.

The road from Grandues to Ranikhamar has taken a bad shape over past many days. Day after day people are facing serious trouble due to this poor condition of the road. Though, the matter is being informed to the concerned authority but no action. The localities alleged that over past many days several accidents have taken place. However, the localities have demanded for the immediate renovation of the road.
