UDAIPUR, July 21 (TIWN): The road at Maharani under Udaipur sub-division has been functioning in a miserable condition and gradually turning into an accident prone zone. In spite of several complained the authority is continuously playing a role of a silent spectator leading the life f the common mass at risk.

The deplorable condition of the road has been continuing for past few years. Due to this it become hectic for the commuters and the vehicle drivers to move through the road.

The footpaths in the area have shed their topping and pedestrians have to be extra cautious while encountering the bumpy path. The roads are no better either since the topping that were given less than few months ago have developed into potholes.

Meanwhile, incessant rains across the state since few days have thrown life out of gear. Many major streets in Agartala have gone under water and a number of roads, lanes and houses are waterlogged.

And following this people also staged several agitations in demand of proper carpeting of the road for an easy conveyance of the vehicles.

The agitated locals said that there is a need to repair the road. Further, they said that they had also complaint several times but till day no response has come up. They further said that few months back the authority has topped the road with brick chips by with the passing days the road has turned pathetic.

The condition of the road is so poor that after incessant rain water get pour in the pot holes allowing the water borne diseases to spread in the area. The commuters who are using this road to visit Amarpur, Jatanbari, Gandacherra, Tirthamukh, Ampi and Teliamura have to face hurdles while crossing creating several damages in the vehicles.

However, several complained has been done to the Panchayat and PWD but till day no response has come up.
