UDAIPUR, July 17 (TIWN): After informing several times to the school authority about the demarcation of school land for the construction of boundary wall at Khilpara Higher Secondary School under West Khilpara Gram Panchayat, yielded no results and bound with the situation, the school continues to function without boundary wall, said School In-Charge Dinesh Debnath.

According to the information, the school was inaugurated in the year 1976 as a Primary school and later upgraded to Higher Secondary. The school management constructed separate buildings for high and primary schools but failed to build the boundary wall.

As the school is located near a busy road that is Udaipur-Sonamura road, students of the school often start playing alongside the road which may invite high risk for student’s life.

Because of the absence of a boundary wall, stray cattle and dogs often enter the school premises. Residents allege that anti-social elements also misuse the school premises for the lack of boundary walls.

School In-Charge Dinesh Debnath said that it is the responsibility of the school authority to construct the wall but they did not take any initiatives to demarcate the area for construction of school wall. He said that several letters have been forwarded and requests have been done but nothing has happened so far.

He also complained that the drains near the school premises are running pathetic. He informed that it is the responsibility of the Gram Panchayat to maintain the drainage system in the area. Where it was mentioned to construct 5 inch of drain, the authority has constructed 3inch of drain, said the school in-charge.

As the absence of proper drainage system many low-lying spots near the roads were flooded with the open drains water, creating problems for the commuters as well as for the students of the school. The absence of the boundary leads the drain water flow inside the school premises which made the surrounding dirty.

Unfortunately, grievances of school in-charge including students and teachers and the residents are yet to seek attention of authorities after the concerned kept on submitting applications.
