KAILASAHAR, July 16 (TIWN): Complaints have been come out against West Yeaza Khora Panchayat, under the regime of CPI-M for swallowing a hefty amount of govt.’s money by its secretary Anup Malakar and GRF Raju Das.
According to the records, Rs. 7 laks had been sanctioned in the name of fishery, in 2014. Total 50 ponds were to be made to cultivate fishery. But out of them only 20 ponds have been made and the rest of the sanctioned amount has been gone within the pockets of the Panchayat leaders. And old made ponds have been showing as newly made ponds, locals alleged.
The main complaint has come against Anup Malakar, panchayat secretary and Raju Das, GRF. While talking to Panchayat Pradhan Yakumin Begam, she said that many things though she knows but still she is unable to take a control over the situation.
Agreeing to the fact that corruption is a rampant part of fishery under this Panchayat’s governance, she further claimed that the works undergo with the license of high officials. When the BDO himself has given a liberty to them so they are acting as per their own wishes, said Begam.
Moreover, according to the MGNREGA scheme’s rules for every work one has to put a signboard before the working places. And for every signboard Rs. 2000 comes. But not a single sign board has been set over the place. And here more than 1.5 lakh rupee’s embezzlement has been discovered, which can be added with that previous 7 lakh of sanctioned money in 2014.
The matter doesn’t stop here. Moneys also came for land-leveling, road-maintenance but that amount has no reckoning. Overall Kailashahar has become a place of corruption especially in fishery, as many proclamations have already recorded within last few months.
