KAMALPUR, July 16 (TIWN): The much debated and sensational Noagaon Small Savings scam took a twist as police arrested the prime accused peon Manjugopal Bhattacharjee today. After TIWN’s unveiling of the suspicious role of police in the case, the police summoned the Sub Post Master of Kamalpur and peon of Noagaon Branch office this morning.

After the primary interrogation, police let the Sub Post Master with safe passage and nabbed the peon. Later he was produced before the Court. This act of police created a sort of relief among the depositors.

But this act at the same time gave rise to more serious questions. Without resolving these issues, the scam could never be uprooted. And the incidents would occur here and there time and again.

The Branch Post Master had the sole reliability to maintain transparency and to report the authority if any loophole found. The Sub Post Master looked over the works of branch office along with an Overseer who had to visit each and every branch office once in six months. And then the Inspector had to inspect the works once in year.  The scam revealed that, the embezzling continued for years together.

First, Why not the Branch post master reported the matters at the very beginning to the Sub Post Master?

Secondly, how could that be possible if the Sub Post Master of Kamalpur post office performed his duty sincerely?

Third, the Overseer admitted that he had never been to the Branch Office which proved the irresponsibility. Then why not the Overseer booked who for some reasons happily ignored his duties?

Fourth, came the role of the Inspector. He surely neglected his duties as he knew nothing of the circumstances here.

Last but not the least; the Branch Post Master could never be given an upper hand as she was in direct contact with the day to day activities of the Branch office.

If police and the department not resolved these questions then the truth would never be revealed. And the depositors had nothing but to wail on their misfortune.
