Tripura Govt employees resentment Statewide : 'mere 5 % DA is hopeless', says State Govt. employees
TIWN

AGARTALA, July 16 (TIWN): Chief Minister on 31st March, 2015 before the Cabinet, announced to pay the state govt. employees, following the central pay scale. With that announcement, state govt. employees were in prolonged waiting to receive the salary as per the central pay scale from this running year.

But all the hopes have been vanished with the announcement of 5 percent DA to the employees and the gap between the state and centre salaries remains still as 39 %. The oppositions and teacher associations are going to the Ministry level to ask the reason behind this deprivation.

“5 percent DA is just hopeless”, said Ranajit Dey, Chairman of Joint Movement Committee of Teachers to TIWN. JMCT held a press conference in July 12 and raised voice against state’s continuous deprivation to its employees, for dispensation of “poor pay-scale” in comparison with the central govt.’s. pay-scale. They already gave a sign to the probable situation of “re-deprivation” by state govt. which occurred practically with the statement of 5 % DA.

“State govt. has made the people fool and we are going to the CM in the demand of the employees’ rights on full wages within the month of September”, said Dey.

Interestingly, when detailing about the incident Dey added, “When Central Govt. dictated the state govt. about the pay-scale, it was filled with many wholes i,e, Rs. 2000/- as house rent, doesn’t come under the salary of the state govt. It seems that though a “Punjab body truck” had been gifted to the state govt. employees, in reality it was actually a “nano car”. This is nothing but a joke has been done on the part of the state govt. to its employees.”

He further mentioned, the recently announced pay-band and grade-pay will never come into the level of central pay-band and grade-pay, till the govt. doesn’t bring the old pay-scale into the level of the central govt.’s the then pay-scale.  The employees will never be benefited and the deprivation and allegations will be continued, said Dey.

“When the central govt.’s 7th pay commission will be started from January 1st, 2016, the matter will be gone worsen. Tripura Govt., if basing on the present pay band/pay scale applies the “2 scale theory”, nothing will be developed”, Ranajit Dey told TIWN.

And of course, if one calculates, this 5 percent DA  will not be profitable for the employees, as  if a person is receiving his basic as Rs. 30,000 then this 5 percent DA would have increase his/her salary only Rs. 1,500/-.  As a result, the gap between the high officers remains more than Rs.12,000/- per months, report shows.

Opposition leader Sudip Roy Burman, while talking to TIWN over phone, he said that they are expectedly going for a press conference on Friday for this continuous penury by Left rule govt.
