RMSA scam accused Ambalika Dutta arrested
TIWN

AGARTALA, July 15 (TIWN): Director cum Branch officer of RMSA Ambalika Dutta has been arrested on here in Tuesday evening by West Tripura P.S. police, who was allegedly involved in RMSA scam. But immediately after her arrest, she became ill and accordingly she was admitted to IGM Hospital. Presently she is under the strict vigilance of Police at IGM hospital.

Ambalika Dutta’s name first came in highlight with the declaration of CM’s book “Atit Diner Smriti Kotha” (Reminiscence of past) written by the chief minister Manik Sarkar and "Making One plus One Eleven - Some Experiences of Tripura" edited by former chief secretary Sanjay Kumar Panda to be kept in all school libraries. However the signature which was found in that particular circular was of Dilip Debbarma and as a result though Dilip was suspended, Ambalika was not then.

But when scam of 5 crore came out, then police arrested Arnab Chakraborty and Arnab involved Ambalika’s name in his statement to have her hands in the embezzlement of Rs. 5 crore of money in RMSA. But for the first time as part of the investigation Dutta is arrested.

However, talking to opposition leader Sudip Roy Burmnan, he said, “After years of passage, Ambalika has been arrested, which would have done earlier, that shows the poor investigation by Police forece.”

“Police should not work in anyone’s favour, but acted independently”, added Burman. Not only Ambalika, but those persons who are involved in this total RMSA scam should also be arrested and hence be punished, said Burman.
