AGARTALA, July 14 (TIWN): The Tata Trusts had recently inked pact with Tripura Left front government pledging supports to community development work in Tripura. But interestingly the state government has not yet clarified the tie up with Tata Trusts and had kept the real entity of the partnership over cast. “This is nothing a big deal; rather Tata Trusts had intentionally come here to offer social work,” clarified top official. The official clarified that it is mandatory for every big corporate bodies to have the corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes and following this like other corporate bodies are engaged with it, the Tata Trusts had also come here to do the same. One cannot deny to the fact that the highly profiled Tata Trusts would never come here in Tripura just for the so called social work or investing less for any kind of projects. But why the trusts had made commitment to develop Tripura only? The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) inked had shown the Trusts’ aims to work on quality education, on fisheries, poultry and dairy product departments. But what made the developmental story much more interesting is that the state government here had failed to clarify the funding pattern of the inked projects.Asked about the details of the partnership recently at the civil secretariat the official said, “We are not authorised to comment on this but whatever Chef Minister Manik Sarkar had said on the very day is sufficient to know.”

During the MoU signing in programme after being asked none of the officials remained present managed to detail the funding pattern of the projects. The officials of the state government had completely avoided the issue and clarified that it is nothing other than the Trusts had just come here to work for the improvement of the community.

However, the purpose of the visit of Tata Trusts here in Tripura and the meeting with Chief Minister Manik Sarkar as over casted by the state Left front government had recently emerged as a matter of concern for several critics of the state.

But, again one also cannot deny to the fact that the Tripura Left front government had at last managed to come closer to those “Tata, Birala, Jain, Mafat Lal, Reliance and Ambani” status.

The critics say, “Hefty amount or fund speaks heavy always and that’s the only strategy of the state’s Left front government here.” Therefore Manik Sarkar from now might remain backtrack from slamming the corporate bodies as he managed to come closer to the Tata group.

However, it is worthy to be mentioned here that the Tata Trusts have started ventures with the Tripura Government recently to work on fisheries, poultry and dairy product departments.

The Trusts is also looking forward to impart quality education here in the state and also to improve the community.
