AGARTALA, July 11 (TIWN): Along with several other parts of the state, 34th foundation day of Tripura Motor Sramik union observed at Nagerjala on Saturday. Representatives from 19 sub-divisional committees participated in the foundation day program.
As a part the celebration of foundation day program on Saturday the secretary of the Tripura Motor Sromik union, Soumitra chaterjee hoisted the flag at Nagerjala motor stand.
Speaking at the program he said that the hike in prices of petrol and diesel initiated by BJP government at the Centre would inflict a financial blow to vehicle operators and the people of the land-locked state totally dependent on surface transport.
The decision to hike petrol and diesel prices is "anti-people" and would lead to rise in prices of all essential commodities throughout, said Chaterjee.
Further to commemorate the ceremony, the organization has distributed food items and clothings in the old age home and cancer hospital.
Apart from Nagerjala, the foundation day is also celebrated in several other part of the state.
However, secretary for TMSU Soumitra Chaterjee, Vice-president Chanchal Majumder along with other dignitaries remained present in the program.
