AGARTALA, July 10 (TIWN): The aim to illuminate Agartala city with LED Street lights has turned bleak with the information of LED light running out of operation for past many days in different areas.

It has come to notice that, in many areas LED street lights have turned out of order within a few days of installment of street lights under Agartala Municipal Corporation, leading the areas towards darkness in the night.

Taking to TIWN correspondent on Friday AMC Mayor Dr.Prafullajit Sinha said “it is continuous process, with every new initiative some problems also erupts and gradually with the on-going time it will also be solved”.

However, the street lights of M.B.Tilla, Taltola, kalitilla, Milansnagha including the street lights of different other wards are in critical condition resulting the residents to suffer in wilderness.

Roads in Tripura are notoriously known for their nightmarish travel experiences because of the poor maintenance system of the street light, alleged localite. Much to the dismay of the citizens, roads are also severely marked by the lack of adequate lighting. Poor lighting on Indian roads have accentuated the woes of the citizens by creating unsafe road conditions and heavily compromising road safety norms.

Poor lightning on state roads has become a big concern. The lack of street lights have in numerous instances created unsafe road conditions and contributed to accidents. The localites further alleged that within the few days of installments of streets lights, the lights have turned out of operation and the authority is not taking any initiative to repair the street lights of the areas.

AMC Mayor Dr.Prafullajit Sinha also said that ‘repair man’ are already appointed in all ward divisions, and measures are adopted to repair the street light immediately within few days of receiving complaints from the people.

There is lack of employee in some ward divisions resulting delay in the repairing work of the street lights in different areas, said Mayor Prafullajit Sinha.

Mayor Prafullajit Sinha further said that work process is under-going and the repairing of the street light would be done soon.

However, a different line of allegation has come up from AMC Mayor as well the localites, now only time can say when the street light will be recovered or it will be left in paralyzed condition.
