AGARTALA, July 10 (TIWN): Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Secretary R Vijaykumar on Thursday met Tripura Chief Minister Manik Sarkar taking up the issues related to the ongoing project works here in the state, said top official.
Vijaykumar had arrived here in the state on July 7 and held meeting with the State Chief Secretary Yashpal Singh in presence of the government representatives here at the secretariat.
According to the official, Vijarkumar had visited here to take a stock of the situation of the on-going project works under the central scheme and being funded by the DoNER Ministry.
On July 8 he had visited the construction site of the flyover here at Battala and took a stock of the current situation and had also urged for early completion of the work.
However, on Thursday Vijaykumar met with CM, had taken up several on-going project works in discussions and urged for early implementation of the pending projects.
The Ministry of DoNER had sanctioned a total fund of Rs. 126 crore for the proposed 10 projects here in North Eastern states of Tripura.
For the improvement of Bishalgarh (NH-44)-Taksapara-Sonamura Road (32 Km) the ministry had sanctioned Rs. 63.10 crore. Whereas for the proposed extension of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) nateork in and around the state capital Rs. 7.03 crore has been sanctioned.
Besides, for the most stressed on river valley catchments erosion control project of Howrah River in Tripura the DoNER ministry had sanctioned Rs. 5.99 crore.
