Belonia/Agartala, July 10 (TIWN): Despite, tall claims made by Tripura CM many times to make it a load shedding free state, as well as to supply power to its neighbouring country Bangladesh, but in reality Tripura itself is suffering from frequent load sheddings. Though the capital city gets relief to some extent, but the urban and rural areas of the state are mostly affected by it, report says. Students are the most sufferers due to this power disruption.

Rural areas are being supplied six hours of three-phase power supply and eight hours of single-phase supply.  Urban areas have been spared so far with only about 5 hours of power cut every day.

According to the reports, load shedding gripped many villages under Sabroom /Belonia/Santirbazar Sub Division, paralyzing household and business. This problem is not a new and every day the govt. is being asked to solve the problem, but till day no improvement has been done. Due to load shedding daily water supply was also remain cut off.

Power load shedding is underway up to 6 hours in different areas of South Tripura District. Auto engineering workshops, juice shops and other small businesses depend on electricity and due to the ongoing power cuts for hours, common people cannot even pay rent of the shops. Frequent load shedding has led the School students studying in the candlelight almost every evening.

Talking with a local he claimed, “The present government claims that the electricity generation has increased, but we do not see any sign of it. Meanwhile, electricity has become costlier.”
