AMARPUR, July 9 (TIWN): For prolonged 3-year, Ramananda Das Baishnab Para Senior Basic School under Korbook sub-division has been providing education under deplorable conditions. The walls of the school building are going down below the ground level due to access rain water in to the building creating a terrifying condition of the school, said School in-charge Ratneshwar Sutradhar

Among 8 class rooms, 3 of them already went down, confirmed Sutradhar.

School in-charge Ratneshwar Sutradhar stated that the building has 8 rooms and the school provide education up till 8th standard. During the rainy seasons, due to wet land, the building starts to slowly go down below the ground level. Among the 8 class rooms, 3 are already below the ground level and no classes can be conducted over there. Due to which the teacher had to conduct all the 8 classes in the 5 rooms.

The condition of the building is so pathetic that it can collapse at any time, said School In-Charge. Every time the teachers conduct classes at their own life’s risk, added. She claimed that she had informed the school authority about the condition of the school for several times, but till day no initiative has been taken yet to renovate the building.

She informed that MLA Priyomoni Debbarma had visited the school for several times and assured to take necessary steps for the building. He had even informed the concern authority but as no order has been arrived yet, he is also unable to take any step, said Sutradhar.

She further complained that the school is also suffering from acute shortage of teachers. As the poor condition has gripped the school, it has also become impossible for the teachers to conduct the classes of these students.

Day after day, education for the students in the rural areas is giving for the name-sake.

The State Government never misses any chance to make the tall claims regarding the so-called developed education system of the state, but such sort of poor infrastructure in this school at Korbook Sub-Division, alike others shows the real picture of so-called development.

The authority is playing the role of a silent spectator and is not taking any action for the renovation of the school, alleged a guardian of a student. The locals also alleged that the poor infrastructure of the school is due to the failure to run intervention programmes.
