AGARTALA, July 8 (TIWN/IANS): Tata trusts are keen to invest in Tripura in fisheries, animal resource and dairy development besides skill development of unemployed youths, a top Tripura government official said here on Wednesday.
"Tata trusts have shown interest to invest in fisheries, animal resource and dairy development in Tripura. They would also undertake skill development of unemployed youths through two industrial training institutes (ITIs)," Tripura chief secretary Yashpal Singh told reporters.
He said: "Tata trusts are willing to set up a modern dairy in Tripura to cater milk to the people of the state and other neighbouring northeastern states."
The official said Tata trusts' chairman Ratan Tata would sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Tripura government on Thursday to specify the sector wise investment and various other details.
The Tata trusts would also undertake some socio-economic development projects in six tribal and minority dominated blocks in northern and western Tripura.
