AGARTALA / MELAGHAR, July 8 (TIWN): The RSS has sought action from Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) against CPI-M MLA from Nalchar in West Tripura Tapan Das and five other party cadres who were accused of kidnapping two RSS volunteers on Monday. RSS in-charge for Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur and Cachar Mahindra Sharma said that police is playing a partisan role and unnecessarily harassing the RSS volunteers as well as attempting to disrupt their activities. He alleged that even after a day of lodging FIR against MLA Das and others for serious charges, which primafeci is established, police did not arrest any of them rather persuading the false cases registered by CPI-M lobby against RSS volunteers.Sharma said MLA Das accompanied by a group of CPI-M cadres appeared in East Nalchar Killamura S B School in the morning when RSS volunteers were doing physical exercise and yoga and threatened for dare consequences unless they stop their performance. Upset with the growing popularity of BJP in the state, the ruling CPI-M is losing its nerves and has started attacking the saffron party and its supporters. Allegedly, MLA Das had party cadres to kidnap two of RSS volunteers Rupamoy Biswas and Akhaya Debnath mobilized but meantime police came and detained them.

The CPI-M party cadres and MLA himself accused them of cow lifter, Sharma alleged.

He said that police has been trying to mislead the case and interrupt the constitutional right of peaceful assembly of RSS volunteers.

The CPI-M party cadres also lodged complaints against RSS activists of involving the youths in their activities without the consent from the guardians. And another case has been registered by school authority for unauthorised use of their open ground by RSS volunteers, which police is persuaded seriously despite these doesn’t have any merit, Sharma added.

He however, threatened that RSS will not tolerate any of such intimidation and interruption in their activities, if this thing continues RSS will retaliate and the state government will solely be responsible for it.

It may be mentioned here that the ruling CPI-M party is reeling under tremendous pressure after the saffron party started showing its impact on the voters by increasing its vote share in the last TTAADC elections as well as the by-elections in 13 Pratapgarh and 46 Surma Assembly constituencies, where it occupied the 2nd positions pushing the main opposition Congress behind.

CPI-M goons led by local MLA Tapan Das allegedly attacked a group of Rastriya Swaiamsevak Sangha (RSS) volunteers at Melaghar when they were practicing yoga at the school premise on Monday.  Not contend with the attack on the innocent RSS volunteers, the CPI-M cadres, led by the local MLA got the RSS volunteers arrested by the police accusing them to be cow thieves.

The improved performance of the rightist party was seen as a blow to the ruling CPI-M, which was enjoying a relaxed and ‘friendly’ competition from the opposition Congress in the state, owing to the alleged understanding of the Congress High Command in Delhi with the CPI-M top brass.

Annoyed by the growing popularity of BJP in the state, the State Secretary of CPI-M, Bijon Dhar even threatened of legal actions against the BJP state President Sudhindra Das Gupta for his much talked about comment at the BJP youth wing’s convention at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhawan here on Saturday last. The BJP state president had urged the BJP workers to resort to tit for tat tactics and to counter any attack by the CPI-M cadres in the state.

The much talked about ‘caderisation’ of police force by the ruling CPI-M was once again exposed when the police of Melaghar police station arrested the innocent RSS volunteers terming them as cow thieves at the behest of the local MLA Tapan Das instead of protecting the RSS volunteers from the attacks of the CPI-M cadres. Other RSS volunteers of the locality supported by the local people, later gheraoed the Melaghar police station demanding unconditional release of the innocent RSS volunteers.

Meanwhile, political analysts here opined that such attacks on the BJP supporters will occur more frequently in the coming days as the ruling CPI-M will try every means to stop the further popularity and acceptance of the BJP in the state. Terrorizing the BJP supporters and withdrawal of benefits of various Govt. schemes from those who join the BJP, implicating the BJP supporters on various fabricated charges followed by actions by the partisan police and all other such steps would be employed by the ruling CPI-M to stop the growth of the party in the state, feel the political analysts here.
