AGARTALA, July 7 (TIWN): Combating all odds, Tripura's Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) managed to be offered with Narendra Modi’s Digital India – e-hospital services launched recently in the country. Though the service is expected to facilitate the common masses of the state from now, but it seems to have no respite to the alleged filthy service of the AGMC.From now on, anybody here in the state along with other states of the nation can take appointments through online booking for availing Outdoor Patient Department (OPD) service. But, interestingly when one reaches the ultimate destination, there is found no solution to the sufferings being faced by the patients. The E-hospital services have been initially launched in five renowned hospitals of the country. They are All India Institute of Medical Services (AIIMS), Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Sports Injury Centre Safdarjung Hospital, National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences (NIMHANS) and above all, Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) cum Govind Ballabh Pant (GBP) Hospital.Patients could register themselves through their cell phones or computer (ors.gov.in) for a visit to doctors of any department on a chosen date, but one remains back track from getting admit to the hospital which is known to be one of the leading hospital here in Tripura.

A section of patients and their relatives in the AGMC welcoming the initiative of the Government of India in launching the e-hopsital service here claimed, “From now the patients can register themselves online but the heath service is not improved here.”

Adding they further claimed, “So the e-hospital service does not keep any value here because what the patients want is a good health service in hospital.”

However, the e-hospital service has undoubtedly added another feather to the Left regime the so called ‘Golden era’ here in Tripura, but the AGMC allegedly still lacks proper treatment and better health care facilities.

One cannot deny to the fact because the sting in a tale still prevails as the State Health Minister himself worried the improper health service the AGMC and managed to move Delhi for his treatment.

Even now the growing population here in the state still depend on abroad treatment refusing to get cured here in AGMC and the only reason behind this tale is lack of proper infrastructure, as alleged by a section of patients.

People say doctors take the second position after God and should keep faith on doctors like we keep faith on God. But the duty of a section of doctors here in our state Tripura figures out the real entity and the suffering of the patients. Several patients had lost their lives here in AGMC cum GB Pant hospital due to the wrong treatment and the system remains unchanged yet today.

But despite all odds the AGMC managed to get a tag of the ‘e-hospital’ service which failed to administer better health service to the common masses of the state and as a result a large section of patients are still depended on abroad health care facilities.

As part of the e-hospital service from now on, anybody can take appointments through online booking for availing Outdoor Patient Department (OPD) service. The same is applicable for city scans, X-rays, Sonography and tests of other sorts as well. It is called Aadhar based Online Registration and Appointment System.

The experts suggest that the e-hospital service here in AGMC would not save the patients until the health service facilities get improved here, because one cannot deny the fact that the system still deteriorates yet after the 68 years of independence.
