Training camp for teachers organized at Kailashahar to guide the Handicapped Students

KAILASHAHAR, July 6 (TIWN): Day long training camp for teachers to guide the Handicapped Students has been organized with the joint initiatives of National Institute for Orthopedically Handicapped and School Education Department in Kailashahar Bhagat Singh Committee Hall on Monday.

A total of 50 teachers of primary schools participated in the training camp. The camp was organized aiming to guide the teachers about various do’s and don’ts towards the handicapped student of the schools.

During the camp, the teachers were urged to take special care of the handicapped students. Besides, they were urged to take care of every problems faced by the concern students while attending the classes and if the situation cannot be brought under control then the concern teacher should immediately inform the family members of the student rather avoiding the condition of the student.

During the programme, Sabadhipati of Unakoti District Council Kalpana Debnath stated that education is the basic right of every human being. It is the process of facilitating learning including knowledge, skills, values, beliefs, and habits of a group of people are transferred to other people through education.

She further mentioned that the same way people including teachers should encourage every handicapped child to get education and should not be treated as like untouchables. The teachers should also guide or make the other students understand that the handicapped students would also be treated well.

The teachers would always support them all the way urged Sabadhipati of Unakoti District Council Kalpana Debnath.

Altogether four resources person from Kolkata attended the programme- Executive Officer A. Patra, Media Officer Himangshu Kumar Srivastab, Social Worker Narayan Choudhury and Service Officer Abhijit Ghosh.

Vice-Chairperson of Kailashahar Municipal Council Kantilal Deb and District Education Officer Shyamal Das were present during the inaugural programme.
