AGARTALA, July 6 (TIWN): The Tripura High Court (HC) Justice SC Das has recently ruled out the state government here to provide job to a deprived widow under the die-in-harness scheme as per her qualification. The HC ordered the government to offer the job within six months.

Sima Sarkar Biswas, wife of Late Prabir Kumar Biswas had earlier sought for her husband’s job at the education department under the die-in-harness scheme of the state government. Lt. Prabir Kumar Biswas was a teacher of Kalikapur Senior Basic School and died on September 16, 2013.

Since then, his wife Sima Sarkar Biswas was deprived by the state government from the die-in-harness job. Following her demand the concerned sub-divisional District Magistrate conducted an enquiry and declared that expired Prabir Biswas’s mother is still alive, therefore wife Sima Sarkar needs to take ‘no objection’ certificate from her mother-in-law in order to get the job under the die-in-harness scheme.

However, but the High Court recently hearing the case filed by the deprived widow Sima Sarkar had made it clear that the ‘no objection’ certificate is required only when two qualified people belong to single family and deserve a job of the expired from the same family.

Besides, it has also been learnt that after the death of Prabir Biswas, his mother went to Madhya Pradesh to sustain her life with her elder son.

Despite the SDM ruled out to take the ‘no objection’ certificate for getting the job under die-in-harness, widow Sima Sarkar applied for the job under the education department providing under taking that she would take the responsibility of her mother-in-law.

But, Sima Sarkar was deprived at a large from the job under the mentioned scheme following which she had later knocked the door of High Court seeking justice.

However, the negligence role of the state government and its education department was once again proved in the High Court. The HC had ordered the state government to provide job to the widow Sima Sarkar as per her qualification under the die-in-harness scheme within six months.
