KAMALPUR, July 5 (TIWN): Acting on a tip off Kamalpur Police seized contrabands of more than 3, 00, 000 rupees from Halhali-Fatikroy NEC road this morning.
According to the information of SI Chakla Jamatia, police conducted raid and challenging a Scorpio numbered TR-01-G-0295 seized 1250 bottles of contrabands and detained five persons.
According to the Officer-in-Charge of Kamalpur Police Station Debaprasad Roy, police started their raid in the Halhali-Fatikroy NEC road at around 6 am this morning. When a Scorpio numbered TR-01-G-0295 approached towards Kamalpur, police challenged the vehicle.
Then police seized the vehicle and stopped it near the Still bridge of Erarpar. From the vehicle police seized 1250 bottles of phensydil and choco contrabands having the market value of 3, 12, 500 rupees.
From the vehicle police detained five persons namely Billal Hussain, Kayru Alam, Abdul Haque ( Driver), Selim Mia and Sagar Saha all belonging from Baoxanagar.
In today’s raid SI Chakla Jamatia, SI Jainal Hussain took part led by OC Debaprasad Roy. According to sources, the contrabands were being delivered to Tapajjal of Boxanagar. Now, what police could unearth further in the case is to be seen.
