Directorate of Small Savings organizes Tripura Small Savings Lucky Draw

AGARTALA, July 5 (TIWN): On its ambitious plan to attract more investors towards small savings with the initiatives of Directorate of Small Savings, Tripura Small Savings Lucky Draw has been organized at Shukanta Academy on Sunday.

The programme was organized in the presence of Additional Secretary of Law Department A. K Nath and Deputy Secretary of Finance Department A. K Sarkar.

Speaking in the programme, Director of Small Savings Sahadeb Das said that this initiative has been taken to protect the interest of depositors from the fraudulent activities of the NBFCs/UIBs and other financial institutions of the state.

He further stated that around Rs. 6. 50 population of the country has been cheated by the fraudulent activities of the NBFCs/UIBs which left terrors in their mind. This initiative will help the people to come over the stage.

At the programme, the concern authority again requested the common people not to deposit their hard earned money in such companies but to deposit their moneys in the post offices and banks.

In the pursuance of rule 4 (1) of Tripura Small Savings Lucky Draw (Gift Coupon) Rules, 1990 and Rule 5 (1) and 5 (4) of the said rule as amended by the Tripura Small Savings Lucky Draw the (first amendment) Rules, 1991, (second amendment) Rules, 1992 (third amendment) Rules, 1995 and (fourth amendment) Rules, 2001.

The Governor of Tripura notified that the coupon of Lucky Draw (Gift Coupon) Scheme for the year 2014- 2015 will be issued to the investors of Post Office through the monthly income account/ 5-year Post Office time deposit account/ 5-year Post Office recurring deposit account/ Kisan Vikas Patra opened or purchased during the year 2014-15 against investment of Rs. 2000 each or in multiple of Rs. 2000.

Further, it has been mentioned that the gift coupon will be printed in three separate series.

The first prize will be distributed within 3 persons and the amount will be of Rs. 1 lakh, the second will also be distributed among 3 persons and the winning money will be of Rs. 50, 000. Beside third prize will be of Rs. 25, 000, fourth prize of Rs. 10, 000, fifth prize will be of Rs. 5, 000 and lastly the sixth prize holders will be distributed with Rs. 2, 000.

Detailing about the documents, the concern authority has declared that the investors have to produce the Small Savings Security or the Pass Book issued against his/ her investment in the Small Savings Security or the account during the financial year before the issuing authority  the state or district or divisional head quarters for obtaining Gift Coupons.
