MOHANPUR, July 5 (TIWN): In a major shock to administration, a BPL/Ration card has been recovered issued in the name of a Bangladeshi at Mohonpur. The Bangladeshi has been identified as Chiddik Miah,

According to the reports Chiddik Mia is presently living in Horina Khola Grma Panchayat’s No 4 ward’s resident Nur Mia’s House from 4 years. He illegally came to Tripura and started to live at Nur Mia’s house in rent, and after one year he got married to Nur Mia’s second daughter Helena Begam.

After their marriage Nur Mia, the father-in-law of Chiddik Mia who belonged to BPL family, started to mange a ration card in his son-in-law’s name. Even though its not possible but it is to be mentioned that in the era of a lacklustreness everything is possible. This is further proven when the B.D.O. of Mohonpur Block issued Chiddik Mia’s name in the ration card of Nur Mia on 20/09/2013.

Interstingly as Chiddik Mia is not an Indian, but a Bangladeshi, and was illegally living there since last 4 years. In the ration card the Chiddik Mia is shown as the son of Nur Mia, who is actually the father-in-law of Chiddik Mia. And it’s to be mentioned that on 20/09/2013, with the R.O.R No. 449 Chiddik Mia managed to put his name in the family ration card of Nur Mia, following the sequence of No.10 member of Nur Mia family.

When the issued letter had been forwarded to Food Dept.’s office’s table, without verification the ration card had been finally issued with the entry of a new member’s name Chiddik Mia.

Before the entry of Chiddik Mia’s name the Card No. was 40,  R.O.R No. 5/43/44 and the total included number of the family member of Nur Mia was 9. But with the entry of this new name, the profile of the Ration card was changed with the  Card No. 14, R.O.R. 449 and family members-10.

When the authorities of both departments had been asked how come in 2013, a ration card had been issued in the name of a Bangladeshi, by showing himself as the son of his father-in-law, the authorities putting all blames on the Panchayat members replied that the process of verifying BPL or Ration Cards is generally done in Panchayat, and the Panchayt Sachib is wholly responsible for a such “Major Mistake”. However, surprisingly Mohonpur block is unable to remind who was the sachib of Panchayat in 2013 in Horinakhloa Block, by whose hands such a major mistake had been done.

The present Panchayat-sachib of that very Panchayat Kanu Das is unable to find out any old file in the name of Chiddik Mia. According to the sources the lost files are the only way left to them, by which Panchayat is trying to save the “clean-image” of party.

According to the villagers, Chiddik Mia was an active Moulabadi of Bangladesh, and once he came here he never went back to Bangladesh, nor even he has any legal documents with him. After marriage instead of removing the name of Helena Begam, her husband’s name is put as Nur Mia’s son.

Till now no arrest has been done though the matter has gone to the Panchayat, but Panchayat is trying to hide the matter to save the “Rapport” of the party. But the local people are skeptic about the intentions of police.
