AGARTALA, July 5 (TIWN): On yet another blow to the ruling CPI-M party here at last after getting the water dirty enough, a case has been filed against the CPI-M MLA Keshab Debbarma over a fake degree case unearthed by the congress recently. One social activist, resident of Golaghati had filed the case at Bishalgarh Court on Saturday.
Talking to TIWN on Saturday in this regard, a source confirmed that a case had been filed against Keshab and now the court would look into the matter.
The Congress claimed, “Golaghati constituency CPI-M MLA Keshab Debbarma has furnished differing educational qualifications in two state-wide election affidavits. The affidavits mentioned that during the year 2008 CPI-M MLA Keshab Debbarmahad appeared for Madhyamik Examinations under the TBSE in 1992 whereas in the year 2013 Debbarma again mentioned in the affidavit that he had passed the Madhyamik examination during the year 1989 under the state board.”
CPI-M MLA Keshab Debbarma after being accused for his fake educational degree had attempted to file an affidavit using the power of some judicial officers and notary public, which the opposition congress leader Sudip Roy Barman termed the attempt to be another death trap for Keshab which he himself had dig.
However the next hearing of the case would be held on July 6. Earlier the CPI-M State Secretary Bijan Dhar said that Keshab had already rectified his mistakes on his second affidavit filed during the year 2013.
