Private tuition still going at large in the state; government silent

AGARTALA, July 4 (TIWN): The saga of private tuition still continues in the state. Even after the Tripura State Government has welcomed the interim order of Tripura High Court claiming that the state government had already alerted the govt. school teachers, students and the guardians to restrict the private tuition practice, it is seen that the practice of private tuition is still going at a large in the state.

However, it is worthy to mention here that despite having a ban on private tuition by the government-school teachers, the tendency has taken a toll with no departmental action against the violators.

It is to be mentioned here that the High School and Higher Secondary School teachers were never brought under any restriction by the Govt. prompting the school teachers to run their education business unimpeded.

The Department of Higher Education took some stringent step of cautioning the college teachers against private tuition and even punished some irate college teachers by transferring them to different colleges disturbing their education business in their places. Many College teachers chose to resign from their jobs to continue to their tuition business when they were transferred to different colleges.

School teachers are resorting to private tuition to earn some extra money is a common practice in this left ruled state where the Govt. teachers as well as the private teachers are underpaid for their normal jobs as compared to the same volume of service in other states of the country.

Although the court has order to put a ban to the practice of Private tuition but still the practice is going on in a large scale in the state and the ruling government is silent over the issue.

It is alleged that the ruling government is silent over the issue only because either of the children of the Ministers or the local leaders are undergoing private tuition with the Government teachers under different school.  And if the practice of private tuition is being strictly looked over by the state government it will directly hamper the carrier of their children and as a result no prompt action is taken by the state government for curbing the saga of private tuition.
