DM (West) meeting to start full-fledged flyover construction work

AGARTALA, July 4 (TIWN): With an aim to kick off the construction work of the first ever flyover here in Tripura’s capital in a full-fledged manner and to restrict heavy traffic congestion during the construction work, District Magistrate (DM) West on Friday held a meeting for the second time with the traffic department, Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) authority and others who are engaged to the entire process of the construction work. The chief engineers of the entrusted Nagarjuna Company also remained present in the meeting.

According to the officials, the meeting was undertaken on Friday to aware of the people about the legal provisions and to follow it during the construction work of the flyover. Besides, the encroachment would be removed who have illegally acquired the land at both the sides of the road. The land demarcation has already been done, said the officials.

The official who attended the meeting on Friday said that on July 4 the announcement would be made, so that the people residing or acquiring on both sides of the land where the construction work would be carried soon vacant it.

However it is to be mentioned here that the State Traffic Department had also carried certain steps in regard of restricting heavy traffic congestions which is expected to be witnessed during the construction work. Besides, all the measures had been taken up recently to facilitate the pedestrians and the vehicles, travels through the adjacent road where the construction work has been taken up.

The DM (West) on Friday had also urged the entrusted construction company to take up the construction work of the first ever flyover here from the main land.

The Nagarjuna construction company had already kicked off the work of making the round shaped pillars bringing heavy equipments and tools. Currently the work is underway at Battala which would be the centre point of the flyover road connecting Agartala Dropgate and Fire Brigade Chowmuhni. As many as 100 pillars will cover the 2.5 km fly over. Once fly over is constructed, vehicles from the Nagerjala bus stand will continue to ply on the same path. It means the vehicles leaving from Nagerjala will not be allowed to catch the fly over to avoid traffic congestion, said the officials.

According to the section of city dwellers, the fly over bridge would be blessing for the people living here in Agratala city, as the pupils can never be on time in their office or school due to the tremendous traffic issue. Mainly the Battala station, which have junction of more than four roads passing and connecting to a single road have been causing the maximum traffic jam.

The main motive of creating the Fly-Over Bridge is to seek the solution for maintaining the Traffic system in the city. As day by day the population and the number of vehicles are increasing, the problems arise in traffic system too.

However, after having all this barriers in the political issues, finally the people of Tripura will soon get the first Fly-over Bridge connecting the Dropgate to the Fire service station into the city. And finally the increasing rate of Traffic Jamming issues are likely to be solved within 3 years.
