AGARTALA, July 4 (TIWN): The two days CPI-M state committee meeting would kick off from July 11 here at the CPI-M party office at Agartala Melarmath. Asked about the key issues to be brought under discussion this time, the highly placed source of the party informed that the state committee meet this time would take up the issue related to emergence of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) here in Tripura and the present political situation of the state would be taken up in the meeting.

The party sources further said that the state committee meeting would also take up the issue related to the country wide protest against the Modi Government policies. The CPI-M here would go for the protest pressing 6 points charter of demands. The protest programme would be held here in four phases, said the source.

The meeting would also review the recently held by-elections where the CPI-M gained another victory leading the BJP distant to second position like it witnessed on the ADC elections and the Panchayat elections.

Talking to TIWN on Friday the party source said that unlike what Modi’s cheerleaders would have the world believe, Modi’s orchestrated NRIs show in foreign lands actually do not reflect what the Indian people are thinking. The pro corporate, anti people policies of his Government and the increasing role of the RSS at all levels of governance are leading to disillusionment and discontent.

Asked about the emergence of the BJP here in Tripura the party source said, “But, the people of the state need to understand the real entity of the Modi government at the center. And for that the CPI-M would need to reach every people here.”

However, it is worthy to mention here that the emergence of the BJP and the growing support for the BJP worried the ruling CPI-M past from the Panchayat elections till the recently concluded by-elections. At the meantime the BJP downing the Congress here in Tripura eyeing forward to be the main opposition which thinks would only bring a change in Tripura in future.
