AGARTALA, July 3 (TIWN): Rubbishing the statement of Bijan Dhar, the Tripura Congress’s wing National Student Union of India (NSUI) on Friday morning has hit the residence of Chief Minister Manik Sarkar demanding resignation of CPI-M MLA Keshab Debbarma over his fake educational degree row. The NSUI supporters scuffling with the concerned police personnel infront of CM’s residence denied to accept the silent role of Manik Sarkar over the fake degree row case, as the communist Party of India at Delhi are on a spree demanding the resignation of Delhi HRD Minister Smriti Irani over the same issue. Protesters raised slogans against Keshab; and criticised CM Manik Sarkar for not sacking the minister. “We will continue our protest until he does not resign from the cabinet. It is really very unfortunate and shameful that the CPI-M is using the fake degree of Keshab Debbarmna to fool the people of the state before contesting the two Lok Sabha elections,” NSUI supporters protests. It is worthy to mention here that just in wake of the Congress preparing to move to the High Court, the CPI-M State secretary Bijan Dhar commented that question does not arise for the resignation of Keshab as he had already rectified his mistake through his second affidavit. But, the congress here has come out denying to the statement made by the CPI-M to rescue its man with fake degree.

After the Tripura Left front Government got to cancel the fake Scheduled Caste (SC) certificate of former CPI-M leader Partha Das during the year 2012 another fake degree row here in Tripura after Delhi HRD Minister Smriti Irani has once again brought a major setback to the politics of the communist party here.

After the Pradesh Congress and the Youth Congress has hit the capital street recently unearthing the fake degree of Keshab Debbarma, the NSUI on Friday managed to hit the Manik Sarkar’s residence demanding for the resignation of Keshab Debbarma. Time waits for none! The Congress baked NSUI   has sought Tripura CM’s intervention in this regard and asks, “Why the Chief Minister here in Tripura who is also a CPI-M polit buro member, remained mum in regard of the fake degree row of Keshab Debbarma, when the same at Delhi had happened and CPI-M witnessed to have hit the street demanding for the resignation of Smriti Irani.”

“We want the immediate resignation of Keshab Debbarma who was found to have adopted a fake educational degree in his affidavits and managed to contest the two Lok Sabha elections. We want the government to remove Keshab in the same way as Delhi government had removed its former minister Jitender Tomar,” said the NSUI State President Bappi Das.

NSUI members climbed on the top of police barriers and raised slogans against the government and Keshab. The protesters held up banners demanding her resignation. Police used mild force to disperse NSUI workers, when they entered into a scuffle with policemen after being stopped from moving towards CM’s residence.

However, all most all the opposition parities here in the state have come out on the streets, demanding for the resignation of Keshab over his fake educational degree. Meanwhile the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) held protests demanding for an immediate resignation of Keshab.

However, the fake degree row here in Tripura has recently received a very mixed response and had brought the ruling CPI-M here under scanner as the same CPI-M has been demanding for the resignation of Smriti Irani at Delhi over the same issue.

Besides, it is worthy to mention here that the congress being empowered by the Election Commission of India (ECI) is preparing to move to the High Court against CPI-M MLA Keshab Debbarma which might bring a major turning point for the CPI-M now.

Opposition Leader Sudip Roy Barman said, “We are preparing the files and documents to move to the High Court to disqualify Keshab Debbarma.”
