AGARTALA, July 3 (TIWN): The Reserve Bank of India, Agartala on Friday held a town hall meeting at Agartala Sukanta Academy auditorium hall for the benefit of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). N. P. Topno, General Manager, Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Agartala presided over the meeting and these delegates remained present there at the meeting and welcomed the entrepreneurs/ other participants; and also explained the rationale of holding such Town Hall meetings by RBI.
They stated that the main idea was to have a sense of problems and issues being faced by MSME enterprises particularly in accessing the bank finance. Besides, such a forum also provided a useful platform for direct communication between different stakeholders so as to attempt solutions on the spot, if possible.
The GM and O-i-C, RBI encouraged all the entrepreneurs to avail more credit from the banks. Besides, the bank officials had also explained the schemes available in their respective banks.
Around 250 MSME Entrepreneurs on Friday had attended the meeting held at Agartala Sukanta Academy hall.
The useful role being played by the MSE sector in contributing various sectors of economy were also explained by the concerned officials during the meeting.
The bankers present in the meeting clarified queries raised by entrepreneurs and assured all support to meet the genuine requirements of the entrepreneurs in the State. The participants appreciated the initiative of RBI and requested for more such events in future.
However, the senior officials from NABARD, SIDBI and the controller of all banks were present in the meeting.
