AGARTALA, July 3 (TIWN): An awareness camp on integrated child protection has been organized recently at the Dukli Panchayat Samiti Hall. The programme has been organized with the initiatives of the Dukli Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) project.

Through this project, lost children between zeros to eighteen years of age, orphans, child labours, children who were discarded by their parents were given legal facilities. The project also helps out the children who had been married off before the legal age.

Addressing the crowd, MLA Rajkumar Choudhury stated that every child should be developed as a good citizen as they are the future of the state and as well as the nation. Therefore, the state Government has been taking several initiatives to create good and disciplined environment for every child of the state, added Choudhury.

MLA Choudhury also asked the representatives of the three-tier Panchayat to take proper initiatives to help the children of the area under the Child Security programme.

Further, Deputy Sabhadhipati of West Tripura District Council Monmohini Debnath asked the Social Welfare and Social Education Department to step forward and to take proper initiatives to help the deprived children.

To enforce the Child Security programme in that area, District Magistrate of the West District stressed on the Block based Child Security Committee. He also announced to provide helping hands to the Child Line NGO which has been working for the benefits of the children and taking necessary steps to help the needy children.

During the programme, Vice Chairman of Dukli Panchayat Samiti Dilip Das, District Social Probation officer Sailesh Das and Dukli CDPO Prasenjit Debbarma were present.

The programme was presided over by Chairman of the Dukli Panchayat Samiti Pramila Roy.
