AGARTALA/SANTIRBAZAR, July 2 (TIWN):, July 3 (TIWN): On yet another event for demanding dowry caused death to a young housewife of 27. According to the reports Shilpi Patari, W/O- Haradhan Sinha, resident of Debdaru village, under Jolaibari, Santir Bazar Sub-division had been married to Samir Patari, of Bali Pathar, under the same sub-division before 9 years with lots of dowries, which were presented to the groom-party including 70,000 cash, gold, and all necessary furniture.
But after few days of their marriage, she had been started to be tortured by her husband to get more dowries. It’s to be mentioned that to satisfy the son-in-law’s thirst for dowries which was torturing his daughter, being a helpless father Haradhan Sinha had to arrange a rubber garden for him and as well as an auto had to purchase for him so that his daughter may lead in a better life .
On June 1st, after consuming poisons, Shilpi Patari had been taken to the Jolaibari Hospital but observing her serious condition the doctors immediately referred her to Gomati Dist. Hospital, Udaipur. But as soon as she had been brought to the Dist. Hospital, doctors declared her as dead.
Being wrecked with the death of their younger girl, Haradhan Sinha lodged a written complaint against Samir Patari on June 2nd at Baikhora P.S. accusing him for murdering his daughter Shilp. As soon as the case had been registered at Belonia, the Udaipur police had been informed to keep Samir Patari in police custody as the accused during that time was at Gomati Dist. Hospital, Udaipur.
He is presently in the Police custody and had delivered to the Baikhora P.S.
