AGARTALA/ MOHANPUR, June 30 (TIWN): The infrastructure of the several Government primary schools in the state when running in pathetic condition, the Borkathal Primary School of Kulibari under Beermohan Bari ADC village is a proof of the administrative negligence in providing education, which is a basic right and the only way to remove poverty in the state.

Neither the district administration, nor the state education authorities have been paying attention to the basic requirements of this primary school which lead resentment among the guardians who sent their children with a hope to craft a better and successful future for them.

The school which has been inaugurated in the year 2007 with an aim to educate the children of the area, left pathetic after the school administration started to neglect the different problems faced by the school.

The Borkathal Primary School has been running with the strength of 18 students. Besides, seven teachers have been employed to provide education to the students.

Allegation has been raised against the teachers by the guardians that as the strength of the student is low, each teacher can take classes of at least 3 students, whereas they conduct only two classes a day. Therefore, the less number of classes in the school demoralizes the enthusiastic nature of the students towards education, added.

However, the guardians also alleged that teachers come late in the school. When informed about the pathetic condition of the school to the Head Master Luna Debbarma, she could not utter a single conclusion about the present status of the school.

The Government has been spending a huge chunk of budget in providing free education to the poor and destitute but what these kids are getting is of no use.

The locals informed that most of the time the students were been deprived from the mid-day meal which is their right. The locals further alleged that the fund which has been deployed in the name of mid-day meal was being grasped by the school administration.

However, the locals also alleged that the school authority leaving the school kitchen unused, they prefer to cook at the house of Baishakah Debbama of the area. When asked about the reason for not cooking in the School kitchen, the Head Master Luna Debbarma said that the school has been suffering from water scarcity for prolonged days.

"The primary education must be the government's top priority. The condition of the government primary schools in the area and the quality of education being imparted there has been going from bad to worse. This has been the major reason why the parents avoid to send their kids in these primary schools," said a local.

The guardians further alleged that the Head Master herself remains absent claiming different excuses. When the guardians need to meet the HM of the school, they first contact her over phone then she comes to the school.
