KHOWAI, June 29 (TIWN): A 16-year-girl was missing from June 25 from her house at Sonatala Village, under Khowai P.S. After searching a lot, duly on June 26 her father Amar Tati lodged a missing diary at Khowai P.S. Police immediately started the investigation and getting information from sources successfully reached out the girl on Saturday night at 8.30 Pm, who was kidnapped by a priest namely Swapan Gour and kept her at Ramchandraghat Bazaar. The girl was already raped and forcefully married by the him.

It’s to be mentioned that Swapan Gour, S/O-Dhrubaraj Gour, also a renowned saint of that area, resident of Baroluthoma village, under Kamalpur P.S. has done prior too. He has already 2 wives, one from Kamalpur, another from Ambasa. Now he has victimized this 16 years girl.

After that incident police made the chargesheet, after lodging the FIR by the victim’s father Amar Tati. The case no. is 59/15, and the sectioned under which police started investigation is 366(a) 376 (2) (1)/ 4 of protection children act/ IPC. The accused was charged with both rape and kidnapping.

On July 28, the accused Swaan Gour was taken to the SJM court where the judge Mou Banarjee sent Swaan Gour for 14 days jail custody. It’s to be mentioned that to see that well known priest being sent  to jail, many people gathered before the SJM court during the hearing time.
