AGARTALA, June 28 (TIWN): Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Sunday addressing the blood donation camp at Agartala Press club organised by the Tripura Protibandi Adhikar Mancha said that the handicaps are not mentally handicapped but they are physically handicapped, therefore they are not meant for any kind of deprivation. “The handicapped people of the state need not knock the door of the ministers for employment,†adding Sarkar said, “The only way to get the employment is to face interview under several posts reserved for the handicapped people.â€
Sarkar said that this year the state government was supposed to take the interview of the handicapped people under 500 posts of different departments amongst which 200 are kept for teachers’ posts but the HC’s order had restricted the state government to take those interview.
“According to the NCTE guidelines every candidates have to sit for the TET examination following which they would be later inducted in the teachers post,” Sarkar said.
However, CM urged the handicapped people of the state to sit for the TET examination for the teachers’ posts under the state government. Sarkar also criticising the BJP led NDA government at the center said the central government’s policy of foreign investment has deprived the handicapped at large.
On Sunday at least 100 handicapped people had donated blood during the blood donation camp at Agartala press club.
Addressing the programme CM said He informed that his government has taken the initiative to inspire the people to donate parts of the body and eyes. Tripura is among the top states in the country with people offering 94 percent of voluntary blood donation.
