AGARTALA, June 26 (TIWN): Once again Indian online shopping portal “Snapdeal” has shocked the consumers by sending “stones” instead of mobile phone. Such an incident has not occurred for the first time with the Snapdeal customers and this time Snapdeal has fooled a customer of Tripura namely Sonali Debbarma.

According to the sources, on June 16, she ordered a phone for one of her friends by Snapdeal.

The mobile set which had been ordered was ‘Samsung Galaxy neo white’, worth Rs. 14000/- and June 22nd.

She received the parcel but an utter shock when she opened that box which was full of stone pieces.

"Such types of online shopping companies should be banned", said Sonali. As per the details this online order for mobile phone was at No: 6779032316 (1 Item) ref no. is 02779073 tracking no:154164131120.

But who is the cheater behind that order snadeal yet to discover, it may be the dealer who is dealing between the customers or the company or may the company employees themselves who packed it.

This incident occurred in the capital city of Tripura where people have started to concentrate more in online shopping rather than direct shopping from shops.

Online offers for shopping, attracting the consumers with heavy discounts; easily addicts the consumers into more “consumerism”. Once they were called “shopaholic” those who were addicted to shopping, now it has been further improved into a new way of consumerism i.e. “online shopping” which has really become a risky issue for the chances such losses and harassments.

Many such complaints are coming against Snapdeal. In the month of November, 2014. Reports against Snapdeal says, just two months after they sent a Mumbai man a bar of Vim soap and a brick instead of a Samsung smartphone. A Pune based man received two pieces of stones instead of the Apple iPhone 4S, which he had ordered.

So this is nothing new what is happening, what’s needed it’s that the customers would become more careful to choose the dealer in the case of online shopping and deal with such dealers smartly especially the young generations who are much more addicted to internet and online shopping, which attracts them by multiple offers.
