AGARTALA, June 25 (TIWN): With an aim to facilitate the people of South Tripura District who are suffering from sickness and cannot visit the concern bank to collect the old-age allowances, the Social Welfare and Social Education Department has taken an essential initiative to avail their sanctioned amount to their home.

Altogether 370 beneficiaries will get the facility where the concern department will send the allowance to their house.

Recently, the officials of Social Welfare and Social Education Department also informed that with the help of BDO, the concern department has confirmed to establish 51 Anganwadi centres in the Saatchand Block area.

In another meet, it has been informed that under the MGNREGA scheme, during the current financial year 150.9 acre of land of South Tripura District will be brought under the Mulberry cultivation. Besides, the cultivation of Mulberry which has been done earlier over 260.3 acre of land will be cleared soon to newly cultivate Mulberry over that area.

Mentioning the new initiatives which will be implemented recently, an official of the Handloom and Silk Department informed that through three clusters in the district, altogether 1425.2 Kilogram of Silk worm has been produced.

Further, the official also stated that to implement the new projects in the District, altogether Rs. 1, 89, 2270 will be spent. Besides, under the self help project the department had deployed loans to 205 people through bank services.

In the current financial year 187 people were brought under the mentioned project.
