AGARTALA, June 20 (TIWN): Tripura's 'pride' and nation's so called 'cleanest' CM Manik Sarkar proved again his iron grip, manipulations over Congress factions to run uninterrupted citadel in Tripura. Ahead of the by-election for two assembly segments main opposition Congress has shifted its political activities to capital New Delhi. The sudden decision of the state Congress leadership has surprised grass root level congress workers and supporters. They alleged that the decision of TPCC and faction group virtually helped ruling CPI-M which is in the by-election fray; whereas ruling CPI-M preparing themselves for the by-election and trying to ensure a massive victory for their party, the candidates in both of the segments. Though the opposition congress is also in the by-election fray but it seems like a symbolic participation. While ruling CPI-M has completed 4 rounds campaigns throughout the constituencies, the opposition Congress campaign has been running lightly. It was presumed that CPI-M would be in trouble due to opposition congress’s all out campaign.According to Melarmath CPI-M sources, the congress has many issues to isolate or even defeat CPI-M but Congress chose to help CPI-M by staying away from active campaigning.

Issues are like Bishalgarh block MGNREGA scam, NRHM scam in Unakoti, resorting baton charge on NREGA labourers etc.

Moreover malaria deaths in hilly area’s issue was major for Congress .CPI-M was worried for the outcome of result margin.

Instead of election battle the congress leadership almost left battle ground and moved to capital  New Delhi for 'picnic' and token visit to meet President Pranab.

But CPI-M seems relived from apprehension.

Most of its leaders till camping are in New Delhi. Congress leadership is so sincere about the welfare of state which is kept for the future.

Most of the party supporters believed that a section of  state leaders are always busy for their own interests.

Some leaders are busy how to get more bus permitted from Assam,Meghalay,Mizoram.

Some others are busy to get work from central organization like BSNL, NBCC, NPCC, PGCL, ONGCL,OTPC etc.
According to party sources their income is not less than Rs 5 lakhs per month in average.
However by-elections ground was in the favour of congress though the result always goes in favour of party in power as per records.

Oppositions have many issues that mentioned above.

Apart from these issues local issues like road connectivity, water supply, health care, sanitation, law and order activities of local CPI-M leaders can be raised by opposition parties.

BJP is also in the fray. They have been raising the issues before the voters during campaign.

Congress is also in the campaign trail but local leaders have been running it.

Most of their state leaders are in New Delhi - busy  taking group pictures with Prince 'Rahul Baba".   CPI-M remains on the ground as they are not taking Election lightly.
