KAILASAHAR, June 17(TIWN): According to rule, Housing apartment can be allotted to one person for a single time under Indira Awaas Yojana, but corruption goes large Juva rajanagar area of kailsahar where people are allotted housing complex for more than one time in the area.

Indira Awaas Yojana is a social welfare programme, created by the Indian Government, to provide housing for the rural poor in India, but negligence of the authority brought corruption in the scheme.

Reportedly, under Indira Awaas Yojana scheme for 2014-15, housing accommodation was sanctioned for 14 person of the same area. Interestingly, out of the 14 people, total of 7 people were alloted house under Indira Awaas Yojana for the second time and as per documents all this 7 person were already allotted house under 2007-2008-2009.

Under the 2008-09 financial years Narendra Sabdakar got the housing accommodation under Indira Awaas Yojana scheme and this time for the financial year 2014-15 his wife Anjali sabdakar was again sanctioned a housing accommodation. Similarly, Abdul Jobbar was sanctioned housing accommodation in the year 2008-09, and his wife was Jolibur Nesha was sanctioned house under financial year 2014-15. Simultaneously, alike incidents were reported from different other person.

The broad purpose of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to some of the weakest sections of society for them to upgrade or construct a house of respectable quality for their personal living. The vision of the government is to replace all temporary (kutchcha) houses from Indian villages and to provide housing assistance to the people. Question arise how can the authority play such negligible role in the implementation of the scheme.

However, raising voice against this corruption, District Congress president Badaru Jawan along with 5 elected members of panchayat met SDM Ajit Sukla Das and gave written complaint against the issue in written and demanded strict action against the matter.
