AGARTALA, June 17 (TIWN): Knowing fully the CPI-M led Left Front Govt. violating all norms and provisions that was laid by the Medical Council of India; even though union Govt. has provided adequate funds for the overall development specially for infrastructure development and up-gradation of health care facility of AGMC and GBPH.For a medical college and its hospital trauma treatment centre is mandatory. The union govt. has sanctioned nearly 90 Crores for the trauma centre. But till date so called efficient health department officials as well as AGMC authority miserably failed to establish a trauma centre in AGMC. Newly constructed 4 storied building was for trauma centre. But alas there is no existence of trauma centre. According to the insiders money was abruptly misused and the majority amount has gone in the pocket of a section of authority. Instead of establishing of Trauma centre the authority has started shifting of other wards in the newly constructed building. But it was completely built up for traumatic centre.Circumstancial evidence speaks that trauma centre which is vital and most essential may not be established at AGMC. In the trauma unit all doctors would be DM degree holders, with specialization .But DM degree holders are not in AGMC .For example there is not a single Neurologist in Tripura. But neurological treatment is most essential in the accidental cases.

It is to be mentioned here that accidental death rate is high in Tripura. Reports say few instruments were purchased for trauma centre but all these are in kept in a room since last one year. There is a special block which is termed as super speciality block. But as per the guide line, DM degree holder doctors to be posted in that block. But in AGMC simple MBBS degree holder doctors are treating patients. It is clear violation of norms laid by MCI.

AGMC story is like Mahabharata.

Specialist in Intensive care unit(ICU) who have intensive training of ICU normally posted to the Post of I/C -ICU. In here such doctors are looking after the ICU unit who are simple MBBS, the doctor was posted in Gandachara. An associate professor of AGMC asked how he will tackle the situation or how he will look after the ICU?, rightly asked the Associate Professor. It’s a simple act  of a wedge. Question is that how a serious patient will get proper treatment from the GB when such situation is prevailing? How patients like trauma  will get treatment? So far information there is no possibility to set up trauma centre in near future.
Faculty problem is not new in AGMC. AGMC has been running with the acute shortage of faculty since its inception. It to be mentioned that nearly 10 years has been passed after the establishment of AGMC. The then former PM inaugurated the AGMC.
When asked a top official he says that they are thinking over the subject. Moreover here is too short of DM degree holders.
State Govt. is merely silence over AGMC.
