 Chinese tycoon's plane leaves from Agartala after repair

AGARTALA, June 16 (TIWN/IANS): A Chinese chartered aircraft, which had to make an emergency landing here last week with nine people, including business magnate Wang Jianlin on board, left for Kolkata on Tuesday en-route to China, officials said.

Wang, one of the world's richest men and chairman of the multi-billion-dollar Dalian Wanda group, along with three of his team members and one of the five crew member left Agartala for China by another chartered aircraft on Friday, a day after his aircraft landed here following a technical snag.

"Two days ago, Indian engineers from Delhi had repaired the plane. The light private aircraft left for Kolkata on Tuesday en-route tothe Chinese capital Beijing after Director General of Civil Aviation and other authorities gave necessary clearances," an official of the Airports Authority of India told IANS.

He said the airliner developed a technical problem on June 11, while flying over Agartala on way to Beijing from New Delhi.

Wang, during his four-day visit to India, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and union Industry and Commerce Secretary Amitabh Kant on June 9 in New Delhi.

Wang, who was in India at the invitation of Modi, announced his plans to invest $5 billion in developing industrial townships in India.
