AGARTALA, June 16 (TIWN): Keeping an eye on the ensuing by-election, SDM Manik Lal Das along with the polling personnel conducted a mock-poll with the polling officers and observers at Rabindra Bhawan on Tuesday.

Speaking at the Mock-poll SDM Manik Lal Das asked the polling officer and the observer to ensure the Commencement of Poll at the mentioned hours, send reports of Poll Commencement to Sector Office, send Periodical Reports on Votes Cast, to instruct the Police Force as the Situation demands, to declare Close of Poll on the given time, to supervise proper sealing and to hand over Sealed & Open Materials.

Central paramilitary forces would be deployed here at the state for the by-elections, to be held on June 27.

By-elections would be held at Pratapgarh and Surma assembly constituency in Tripura on June 27.

Counting of votes would be held on June 30, as per ECI notification. However, the scrutiny of the nomination papers is done and all the nomination paper of the candidates are declared valid by the authority.

The ECI on its notification declared that the polling for by-elections in the mentioned state would start from 8:00 AM and would be continued till 5:00 PM. The elections will be completed by July 2, 2015, issued ECI. The commission has decided that the voter’s identification shall be mandatory in the aforementioned by-elections at the time of poll. Electoral photo identity card (EPIC) shall be the main document of identification of a voter.

The model of conduct shall come into force with the immediate effect in the districts in which the whole or any part of the Assembly Constituency going for by-election is included, ECI decided.

It is to be mentioned here that almost all the political parties here in Tripura have geared up for the upcoming by-elections slated to be held on June 27, 2015.
