Kailashahar : Authorities decide on Zero-Point fencing

KAILASAHAR, June 16(TIWN): Decision of fencing at Kailasahar Silpara “Zero-point” bordering area brought sigh of relief for the resident of silpara on Tuesday.

Reportedly, the fencing with Bangladesh at kailasahar was left incomplete due to some controversy related to the border fencing. Around 13 families are residing in the border fencing area and in absence of border fence they have also utilized few portions of the land for paddy cultivation for past many years. 

In the wake of saving the land of this localite all the political party members placed a deputation to Kailasahar DM to take an effective measure for constructing the border fence at the Zero-point so that the property of these residents remains within the land of India.

Acting on the proposed letter of DM, Border Guard of Bangladesh (BGB) has finally agreed to construct the border fence at the Zero-point to save the land of the localites along the border.

Source confirm that in the wake of saving the land, the authority has now decided construct a fence in an area 495 meter in place of 250 meter as the fence will be placed in different topsy-turvy area for saving the property of the people.    

However, finally on Tuesday afternoon, Kailasahar SDM Ajit Sukla Das, Assistant commandant of BSF 110th battalion Bheem Singh along with the authorities from NBCC has done the final area demarcation at Silapara and confirmed that the construction work of the fence will begin soon.

All the localites are overwhelmed with the decision of the authority and expressed their gratitude to all the people who has made this construction of fence at the Zero-point possible.
