UDAIPUR, June 15 (TIWN): A 4-year-old wild elephant was recovered from the 18mura forest area under Udaipur Killa Police Station on Sunday mid-night.

District Forest Officer W. Bhutia, Additional District Forest Officer Ratan Das along with 50 others jointly on Sunday moved forward in search of the wild baby elephant. The searching team took 2 more elephant of Sepahijala along with them to search the baby elephant.

Detailing about the hunt of the wild baby elephant, officials said that the baby elephant was first seen 3 to 4 months ago at Luntangcharra of Udaipur Sub-division. The baby elephant has ruined the houses of the people and their agricultural field. Then after the people of the area chased the baby elephant whenever they saw the elephant and successfully managed to send it back to the forest.

Again, 2 months ago the baby elephant was seen at the Rajnagar area. There also the baby elephant has created a disastrous situation in area. The local people than complained against the situation to the officials of the Forest Department, when the officials came to recover the elephant it again disappeared in the forest.

Recently it was again seen at the 18mura area under Udaipur Killa Police Station. The elephant over there hampered the agricultural land of the farmers, making the life of the people of the area disaster. The people again complain the concern authority.

On Sunday morning, a team went to the area and searched for the elephant for prolonged 24 hours along with 2 other elephant from Sepahijala. The team recovered the elephant in the mid-night. They kept the baby elephant at Tepania park in the morning and later they to the Sepahijala Sanctuary.
