No farmer’s suicide in Tripura: Aghore Debbarma

BELONIA, June 14 (TIWN): With an ambitious plan to develop the Agricultural sector of Belonia Sub-division, a Deputy Director Office was inaugurated at the adjacent area of Belonia Government English Medium School on June 14.

Addressing the programme, Agricultural Minister Aghore Debbarma said that no incident of farmer’s suicide has been reported yet. He further stated that the quality of the farmers was very difficult and under developed but with a time period and under various Governmental projects the situation has changed.

Appreciating the Government work progress of the area, Agricultural Minister Aghore Debbarma said that earlier the Agricultural Sector of the state was in deplorable condition but due to the efficient support of the officials of the department the situation has turned different.

Farmer suicide is very common in many states but Tripura does not have any such records which is great and happed due to the efficient effort of the officials, said Minister Aghore Debbarma. He further said that recently the farmers of the state export their paddies, mangoes and vegetables with profit. The betel life of Nolua area of Belonia Sub-division were been exported to Kolkata bringing profit to the concern farmers, said Debbarma. The state government further aimed to make the state self-sufficient in food production and to eliminate poverty, added

During the programme, MLA Bashu Deb Majumder, MLA Jashabir Tripura, MLA Shujan Das and Belonia Municipal Corporation Chairman Dipankar Sen and others were present.
