Chief Minister pitches for 100 per cent JE vaccination, better health care at remote Tripura

AGARTALA, June 14 (TIWN): Chief Minister Manik Sarkar on Saturday directed the authorities of health department to conduct regular inspections of the all the government hospitals and all primary health centres across the state and to submit the status report of the hospitals. Sarkar also stressed on spreading mass awareness on vector borne diseases like malaria, dengue and has asked the department to play a significant role as the messenger of the people of Tripura, especially in the remote hilly areas of the state in order to maintain good health.Besides, chalking out a plan to combat several diseases spreads across the rural areas in future Sarkar said, “100 per cent children of the state must be brought under the coverage of Japanese Encephalities vaccination.”Sarkar was holding a review meeting with the state health department authorities in the presence of Minister Badal Chowdhury, Chief Secretary Yashpal Singh, state secretary for Health and Family Welfare M. Nagaraju and others. The meeting was held at Agartala Pragna Bhawan hall on Saturday.However, taking the issue into consideration, CM asked the authorities of the state health department to reach basic healthcare facilities to each doorstep and also increase the quality of treatment facilities in public hospitals and healthcare institutions in the remote areas of the state as the vector borne diseases often grip the people of those areas every year.Sarkar said, “All doctors and nurses would reach the patients with love and care in order to develop the state health care facilities.” Adding to that Sarkar also laid a stress on regular check of the water stagnant near by the houses in the remote areas of the state with an aim to restrict the water borne diseases.

While the government claims to leave no stones unturned for improving the health care service, a number of health centers in remote areas remain unsatisfactory. Most of the health centers have dearth of doctors, medicines and other staffs. Patients of remote areas are seen not to get proper health services.

Besides State Health and Family Welfare Minister Badal Chowdhury during a discussion in the review meeting said, “To contain the vector borne diseases this year we have worked in a better way taking the experience of previous year, and as a result people of the remote areas were seen this year coming to the hospitals for check up.”

He also said that the infrastructure of the state government run hospital has developed, but the doctors and the nurses would have to work active towards the patients ensuring better health care facilities. “There would be no compromise with quality health care to the patients,” stressed Chowdhury.
