KHOWAI, June 3 (TIWN): In a bizarre incident, Police recovered the bodies of husband and wife from Laltilla village area under Khowai Champahour police station on Wednesday morning.
The deceased are identified as Ratan Nayak and Shila Nayok resident of Belarambari, West Lokhichora ADC village under Khowai Chamapahour Police Station.
Reportedly, 3 days back the husband Ratan Nayok along with his wife Shila Nayak went to his in-law's house for roaming. However, on Tuesday morning both of them went out of the house for a walk around the village. The day passed to evening and then to night; but both of them did not return back home, said family members of the deceased.
Tension sparked off among the family members as they were missing for the entire day. By the evening the family members began to search for the couple within and outside the village.
However, on Wednesday morning, the localities discovered the body in a blooded condition from Laltilla village area and immediately informed the Khowai Champahour Police Station.
Getting alarm police rushed to the spot and recovered the body of the husband in a hanging condition and the body of the wife was recovered in a blooded condition lying in the ground with serious injuries in her body.
The family members further said that the relationship of the husband and wife was going well and there was no such tension between them.
Later, Police has sent the body for postmortem at Khowai District hospital and then handed over the body to the family members of the victim.
Talking to TIWN reporter, Khowai Champahour police station OC Shyamal Debbarma said that primary investigation reveals that the husband might have allegedly murdered his wife and has killed himself by hanging.
Police is further investigating the case.
