KAMALPUR, MAY 29 (TIWN): In another setback for CPI-M led State Govt, a case was filed against the Deputy Director of YAS Unokoti with Kumarghat police station the day before for embezzlement of 15, 00, 000 rupees in centrally sponsored PYKKA scheme and other projects. The Physical Instructor of Kanchanbari School Tapas Datta also came under the grip of the complaint. But the Kumarghat Police Station like the Kailasahar Police Station yet not registered the case. However, the petitioner decided to inform the CM about the embezzlement in minute details shortly.

Almost three months ago, Unokoti District YAS got 15, 00, 000 rupees for providing sports materials to different panchayats under four blocks namely Kumarghat, Pencharthal, Chandipur and Gournagar. The amount was sanctioned form the centrally sponsored PYKKA ( Panchayat Yuva Krira aur Khel Abhiyaan). The Deputy Director of YAS was to distribute the materials. To embezzle the amount, he not invited any tender and bought some materials from a relative of him residing at Agartala. Moreover, in the renovation project of Fatikroy Class XII School ground 1, 30, 000 rupees was completely embezzled. The Deputy Director Shimul Das appointed one Tapas Dutta as the implementing officer of the work and embezzled the money. No drain or field leveling was done.

In this situation, one Rintu Lal Dey, the Youth Congress President for East Tripura Parliamentary segment filed a case against Shimul Das and Tapas Dutta for embezzlement of public money. But the Kumarghat police station like Kailasahar yet not registered the case. The OC of Kumarghat, Mr. Nayanmoni Nama was several times tried to be contacted with but his cell phone replied the same tune of “not reachable”. Now the petitioner planned to knock the Court as well as to inform the CM about the embezzlement in details shortly.
